The Art of Teresa Prevo

About the Artist:

Teresa Prevo

Teresa Prevo is a native Tennessean and currently resides in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains in Tennessee. Teresa has traveled and lived in many different states but recently found her way back home to Tennessee. The mountains, nature and those she meets have always had influence in her art. Photography and preserving memories have also been driving forces for Teresa to develop her style and form. She is a multimedia artist but primarily leans toward acrylics, pastels and collage.

Video editing and production is a new passion that Teresa has been enjoying as an art form for the past few years as well. The flow and rhythm of setting images and sound together for generating an emotional response from others is mildly addictive for Teresa. Being able to use video as a means to create is very appealing to her artistic nature.

Teresa’s interest in art stems back to childhood. As a child, Teresa was always busy making crafts, drawing and being creative with objects in her environment. Teresa has always had a irresistible urge to see that which her hands could create.

Teresa has a degree in Graphic Design & Advertising. She has also taken numerous instructional workshops and classes to help develop her skills and style. Teresa feels that we can never stop learning and will continue working with others to improve her skills through workshops and classes. She believes there is much to be learned from others.

Although Teresa is new to the art world in displaying and marketing her art, she is very devoted to sharing her gifts and talents with others. Teresa’s desire is that her art will speak to others on many levels and they too will be transformed as she feels she has been by the experience of creating it.

Artist’s Statement:

Healing Fire

"I feel the creative Spirit that rises up within when I pick up a brush is transforming and purifying my life and existence. I love bright colors, texture and the human form and creating images with those influences re-affirms my connection to the 'True Source' which reminds me that 'We are all One'. I see the beauty in the faces of everyone. I see God in All. I believe that this is why I am drawn at this time to focus on the form and structure of the human face; although, I have noted a change in that process too from time to time and nature seems to beckon for my attention as well."

"Life is beautiful and we are blessed to share space and time with one another and for that, I give thanks to the 'Great Artist' that created us all."
